Meanwhile, in the castle…
The queen and Neerla were having tea, when the doors burst open and in walked Infernox.
“My ladies! I have disturbing news that you must hear!”

“This better be important, Infernox,” said Neerla.

“I’m afraid that Thorn has been eliminated as well,” Infernox said.

“WHAT?!?!?!” The queen screamed. “Don’t tell me, she was taken down by Tala and his companions.”

“Yes, my queen.”

Right, then. Did she discover who the Princess is?”

“Yes, it’s the pack’s leader, Balto’s daughter, Aleu.”

The Queen got up from her seat and pulled her hood tightly around her head.
“Get out…”

“What did you say, my queen?” Infernox asked.

“OUT!” She screamed. “BOTH OF YOU!”

With that note, Neerla and Infernox hurried out of the room as the queen sat in her throne.
“Thorn, you incompetent fool… you’re lucky that you were eliminated… had you returned without the totems and Princess… there would have been HELL to pay…”

Meanwhile in Nome…
Jenna was sitting in front of Arthur’s General store when two red huskies came over. Their names were Jake and Natalie. They were twins and they were both born from the same litter with Kodi and Aleu.

“Hi Mom.” Natalie said. “Still waiting for Dad and Kodi?

“Yes,” Jenna said in a worried voice.

“Hey Mom,” Jake said. “Could you tell us anything about this Tala guy they went with?”

At that moment, a cocker spaniel named Dipsy was dragging a bag over.
“Howdy there, Jenna.” She said. “Well, if it isn’t Jake and Natalie. Thought you’d be hungry so I brought a bag of jerky, and did the manager see anything? Absolutely not. I swear, I’m getting so good, I scare myself.”

“Uh, no thanks, Dipsy,” Jenna said.

“Oh well, more for me,” Dipsy said as she dove into the bag and began to gorge.

Jake looked at his twin sister and his mother. They both looked worried.
“Say, Mom,” He said. “Why don’t we go see Stella? Maybe Dad and everyone came back and stopped there first.”

“Maybe you’re right, Jake,” Jenna said. And with that, they began to walk towards the boat.

When they got there, they not only saw Stella, they also saw Dusty, Ralph and Kirby.
“What’re you guys doing here?” Jake asked.

“We came here to wait for Balto, Tala, Kodi and the rest.” Dusty said.

“I’m worried about them,” Jenna said as she looked towards the forest.

Suddenly, they heard a loud noise and watched as giant walls formed around Nome until it had been replaced by some kind of castle.

“Rosy!” Jenna shouted and ran off towards the castle.

When she got there, she saw a blonde-haired woman in a coat that looked exactly like Tala’s. The woman looked at her and smiled evilly.
“Well, it seems I’ve missed one.”

“What have you done with the town?” Jenna demanded.

“Nothing compared to what my queen will do to your mate and the Wolf Heart master.”

The woman snapped her fingers and suddenly, a swirling tornado appeared and began to suck Jenna into it. Jenna tried her best to resist it, but the winds were too strong.

“MOM!”
She looked back and saw her daughter Natalie running towards her.
“No, Natalie!” She shouted. “Run or she’ll get you too!”

There was a flash of light, and the woman and Jenna were gone.

“No…” Natalie said.

Elsewhere in the woods, a black portal unveiled and out came Tala, followed by Balto, then Kodi, and Boris and Muk & Luk.

“Whoo!” Kodi shouted. “That was cool!”

“Hey, Tala,” Balto said. “I thought you said that pathway would take us to Nome.”

Tala smiled at him and pointed to a sign. It said, “Nome.”

“Oh,” Balto said. “Sorry.”

“Oh, I can’t wait to see Stella’s beautiful face again!” Boris said excitedly.

When they came up a hill on the path, they gasped.

“No…” Balto said to himself.

In Nome’s place, stood a giant castle made of ice.

“What happened to Nome?” Tala said, but he realized the answer before Balto made a guess.

“It must have been Neerla,” Balto said.

“Dad, look!” Kodi said. “Your boat is still there!”

“Come one!” Balto shouted as he ran towards the boat.

The others followed him, and when they got closer, they saw their friends.

“Hey!” Kodi shouted as he saw Kirby, Ralph, Dusty, Jake and Natalie running towards them.

After the reunion, the explaining, and all that jazz, the team began to explain what happened when they had left to go see Nava.

“When you didn’t come back, Jenna kept watching for you,” Kirby explained.

“Father,” Natalie said. “Mom was captured by a human witch who seems to be able to control the winds. I’m so scared for her!”

“Aerial…” Tala said.

“Who?” The team asked.

Tala quickly explained about Neerla and her subordinates, telling which were which, that they already took out two, and the one who captured Jenna was Aerial, the Silent Wind of Doom.

Balto began to growl in rage, hearing that his mate had been captured and looked towards the ice castle.

“They’ll pay for this…”

Inside the castle, Infernox came before Neerla and the queen.
“Miladies, Aerial has returned with the package.”

“Excellent,” The queen said. “Bring her in.”

When Aerial came, she bowed.
“You wished to see me, your Highness?”

“Yes,” The queen said. “Infernox said you got the… pack-age.”

“Indeed,” Aerial said with a sinister smile. “The third Princess was so cooperative when I sealed her family into this amulet.”

She took a red amulet from under her coat and showed it to the queen. Inside, they could barely make out the crys for help.

“You’ve done well, Aerial.” The queen said. “I could not wish for a better subordinate.”

“Ignoring that!” Infernox piped in.

Then Neerla looked out a window and gasped.

“My queen!” She said. “Tala and those mutts! They’re down by some old boat! They must be planning to enter the castle and rescue the town!”

The queen came over and looked to where Neerla pointed.
“Ah,” She thought to her self. “Now to discover if he is the one I seek.”

“Hmm,” She said. “Neerla! Send a squad of Heartless to attack them.”

“But your majesty!” She said. “Tala must still have the totems! Shouldn’t you send one of us to retrieve them?”

The queen gave Neerla a dark look.
“Are you questioning my orders, my dear?” She said in a most malevolent voice.

“No.” Neerla said in a scared voice.

“Well, if you value your life, you’ll do as I say.”

“Of c-course,” Neerla said as she snapped her fingers.

A bunch of Heartless appeared.
“Go forth, and eliminate the Wolf Heart Bearer.” She commanded.

The Queen watched the Heartless advance towards the boat, and for some reason, it made Neerla think there was more to this than what she thought.

Back down at the boat…

“And that’s how we’ll get in,” Tala said as he strapped all the dogs and Balto to a sled. Balto was lead-dog, with Kodi, then Dusty, Kirby, then Ralph, Jake and finally Natalie behind him.

“And what’re YOU gonna be doing as we run our paws off towards that castle?” Kirby asked in a voice that had a “this isn’t exactly fair” thing to it.

“I, to answer your stupid question, will be in the sled, shooting my magic at any Heartless that trys to stop us.” Tala said.

“Tala,” Balto said. “You’re a genius.”

Tala went to the musher’s handle.
“I know that.” He said with a cocky smile, placing his hand over his chest.
“Now… MUSH!”

And the team was off like there was no tomorrow.

“Good luck boy-chicks!” Boris shouted as he, Stella, Muk & Luk, watched them race towards the castle.

As they ran…
“This is too cool!” Tala said, feeling the wind rush past his face.

“Glad you’re enjoying it, Tala!” Balto shouted to him.

“Hey Balto!” Ralph shouted. “How exactly are we gonna get into that castle? I don’t see a door!”

“Don’t worry your little heads, boys!” Tala shouted.

“Ahem!” Dusty and Natalie shouted.

“And girls!” Tala quickly said. “Anyway, I’ve got it covered!”

Finally, they saw their enemies close in.
“Here they come!” Kodi shouted.

“Follow my lead to avoid the Heartless!” Balto shouted.

“And I’ll cover your tails!” Tala shouted making the Wolf Heart appear.

Balto made twists and turns to avoid the Heartless. The ones that came close met their ends. One NeoShadow Heartless leapt at Natalie.

“Dark Lightning!” Tala shouted.

A burst of blue and black bolts shot out of his keyblade and struck the NeoShadow, causing it to explode into black dust.

“Thanks for that, Tala!” Natalie shouted.

“Don’t mention it, we’re not out of this yet!” Tala shouted back.

They were almost to the castle when Kirby shouted, “Look up there!”

They looked up and saw an eagle-like Heartless. Tala gasped; it was the same one that tried to catch him. He could tell cause one of its legs were missing, since he cut it off. They all gasped as it dove at them.

“I got 3 words for you, birdy!” Tala shouted, holding three of his fingers towards the Heartless.
“It’s payback time!”

Tala jumped off the sled and looked at the Heartless.

The team stopped.
“Tala, what’re you doing?!” Balto shouted.

“Chill out, Balto,” Tala said without looking at him. “Just sit back. You’re about to get one hell of a show…”

Tala span his arms and brought his hands together.
Everyone was getting tense as the eagle-like Heartless was getting closer, but they gasped as black and purple energy began to swirl into a ball in his hands.
“SHADOW BALL!!!” Tala shouted as he shot his Dark attack at the Heartless. As soon as it struck the beast, the Heartless let out an agonizing screech of pain and terror. It turned to ashes as it fell to the ground, scattering to the winds.

Tala chuckled sinisterly, which sent chills down everyone’s spines.
“Well, what’re you waiting for?” Tala shouted as he jumped onto the sled.
“Let’s get going! Nome needs us!”

“Tala,” Dusty shouted. “Behind you!”

Tala looked behind him just in time to dodge an attack from a Soldier Heartless by doing the cyclone counter technique to finish it. Suddenly, he was surrounded by Soldiers.

“You guys get to that castle!” Tala shouted, pulling his keyblades out.
“I’ll handle these punks!”

“Not without me, you’re not!” Balto shouted as he unhooked himself from his harness.

Balto ran over to help Tala and they got their game on.

Tala span in the air, slashing at NeoShadows and Soldiers that jumped to attack him, while Balto rushed through them, tearing them apart with his fangs and his claws.

Suddenly, two Heartless, a species Tala had never seen before, appeared. They looked like black hummingbirds with batteries strapped to their backs and the symbol of the Heartless on their bellies. They shot lightning at Tala and it was like he was immobilized as he was lifted into the air while the Lightning began to sap his strength away. He was trapped. Balto ran towards Tala to save him, but a Soldier kicked him away. Balto got up and gasped as he saw the energy being drained from Tala.
“Tala!” He shouted.

Then Balto’s eyes began to glow, and he felt a power inside his heart.
“AURORA BOREALIS!!!”
Balto opened his mouth and a beam of energy, which was the colors of the Northern Lights, shot out of his mouth and destroyed one of the Hummingbird Heartless.
“Aurora Borealis!”
He shot another energy beam at the other and Tala was freed.
Balto saw Tala fall to his knees, panting from the energy-loss.
“Balto!” He gasped. “How… did you do that? Even I can’t do that!”

Balto was just as stricken.
“I…don’t…know…”

“HELP!!!”

They looked back and saw the team about to be attacked by Wyvern Heartless.

“NO!” Tala shouted.

The Wyverns were about to strike when Balto’s eyes glowed again, but this time, the Wyverns completely stopped. As if they had become frozen in time. Tala looked at Balto.

“Balto!” He said. “Did YOU do that?”

“I… think I DID,” Balto replied. “But I don’t know how!”

Tala looked into his coat pocket and looked at the feather Aniu gave them.
“The feather will unleash the powers my son and grandchildren hold in their Hearts.” He said, repeating what Aniu had told him. “Oh, I get it!”

Just then, more Heartless began to surround them. Tala began shooting Shadow Balls at them from his hands, while Balto shot more energy beams at them.

“How am I doing this?” Balto said, still a bit freaked out from this power.

“It’s the feather, my friend,” Tala said as he shot a Shadow Ball at a Soldier. “It unleashed your true power.”

Finally, all the Heartless were gone.
The team, aside from Kodi, all gasped and looked at Balto.
“Dad!” Jake said. “How the heck did you do that?!”

“No time!” Balto said. “We gotta get to that castle!”

Finally they were standing at a wall next to the castle.

“How do we get past this?” Kirby said.

“Allow me,” Kodi said.

A red aura surrounded Kodi as he gathered his powers.
“Fire Howl!”

Kodi howled at the icy wall and a beam of Fire magic shot out of his mouth and it made a huge hole.

Tala came over and patted Kodi.
“Seems I’ve taught you well.” He said with a smile.

“Well, you’re a great teacher,” Kodi said.

“That was cool, Kodi!” Ralph said. “You think you could-

“ATTEN-TION!” Tala shouted like a mercenary, making all the dogs look at him.

“THIS IS NO TIME TO BE PATTING EACHOTHER ON THE BACKS, SOLDER!!!” Tala said. He REALLY had the team’s attention.
“THIS IS WAR, PRIVATE! WE GOTTA GO IN THERE AND SAVE THE TOWNSFOLK AND STOP THE DARK CULT FROM REACHING THEIR GOAL! YOU WANTED EXCITEMENT?!”

“SIR, YES SIR!!!” The team said, as Tala walked back and forth in front of them.
“YOU WANTED ADVENTURE?!”

“SIR, YES SIR!”

“REMEMBER THIS, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. YOU MAY OR MAY NOT WALK OUT OF THIS CASTLE ALIVE. SO UNLESS YOU’VE GOT THE VALOR TO GO DOWN FOR THE RIGHT CAUSE, YOU MIGHT AS WELL RUN OFF WITH YOUR TAIL BETWEEN YOUR LEGS RIGHT NOW! SO YOU HAVE TO DECIDE WETHER OR NOT YOU ARE WILLING TO SACREFICE YOUR LIVES FOR OTHERS’.
SO I WILL ASK ONLY ONCE; ARE YOU READY??!?!?”

“SIR, YES SIR!!!”

“Let’s go, men!” Tala said as he began to walk into the castle.

“Ahem!” Dusty and Natalie said.

“AND ladies.” Tala said with a frustrated sigh.

Inside, the townsfolk had been forced from their homes into the town square where they could all be kept under watch.
Jenna was watching over Rosy and her parents, although she was whimpering, worried about Balto, Kodi, and Tala.
“Don’t worry Jenna,” Rosy said, hugging her. “I’m sure Balto will come help us.”

Jenna licked Rosy as she fell asleep, feeling safe lying against Jenna’s fur.

“I hope you’re right, Rosy.”

In the tallest tower, the Queen, Neerla and the last 3 subordinates had just sensed a new vessel of great power enter the castle.
“My queen,” Onyx said as he bowed. “I think Tala and the mutts have gotten into the castle. They’re probably on their way to the town in the dungeons.”

“That means we can nab the totems,” Neerla said with a hint of avarice in her voice.

“Not yet, my dear,” The queen said as she sat in her throne.
“Let them find the townsfolk, when they think they’re gonna ‘save’ them, Onyx… you know what to do…”

Onyx had been waiting for quite a while to hear that and bowed with gratitude.
“It will be my greatest pleasure, my queen.” He said with a sinister chuckle.

And with that, he vanished into a dark portal.

“But my queen,” Neerla said. “Why don’t we just jack the totems? We’ll save time to search for the Sacred Wolf?”

“What’s the rush, my child?” The queen said. “I, for one, would love to see the look on Tala’s face when he fails to save the folks and the folks watch as their only hope dies at their feet…”

Neerla felt like something wasn’t right.

“My queen…” She said. “I can’t help but feel that you’re hiding something from me.”

“But I would never lie to you, my dear,” The queen said in an innocent-like voice.

“We’ll see…” Neerla said to herself.

As the team, Balto and Tala made their way through the castle, they ran into a few Heartless but it was pretty-much smooth sailing since the Heartless were weak.

At one point, as they walked through the halls, a Shadow Heartless appeared behind Dusty.
“Dusty!” Shouted Kodi. “Behind you!”

Dusty looked back in time to see the Shadow Heartless leapt at her and she shut her eyes. She heard a whoosh and opened them to see the Shadow disappear and Kodi, who looked like he had just attacked.

“Kodi!” She said. “You… you saved me!”

Kodi looked at her and smiled.
“I could never forgive myself if anything happened to you.”

Then before everyone else saw it coming, Kodi and Dusty were nuzzling eachother, realizing they were in love.
“Thanks, Kodi.” Dusty said.

“Guys?”

They looked at everyone else.

“Now is not the time,” Kirby said.

Tala gasped.

“What is it, Tala?” Balto asked.

“I… I sense a power…” He said. “But it feels like it’s only blossomed, I mean begun to work for the first time ever. And the Heart it’s in, it feels… like… Jenna!”

“Tala!” Balto gasped. “Lead the way!”

After some twists and turns through the long halls, they came before a HUGE door with a lock.

The dogs all took sniffs.
“Hey!” Ralph said. “I can smell the townsfolk!”

“They must be in here,” Jake said.

Tala walked up and pointed his keyblade at the lock. There was a beam of light and they heard a loud click, and the doors opened to reveal the town. As soon as he saw the people, Tala brought up his hood, so no one would see his wolf face.
The people all began to walk towards the doorway.

“Everyone, calm down!” Tala said raising his arms into the air.
“Calm down people, ok? Look, you’re all gonna get outta here! What I want you to do is follow the dogs; they’ll lead you out of this place and take you somewhere safe! Everyone stay together and no rushing! I promise, you’ll all get out of here safe and sound!”

“I beg to differ…”

Tala looked behind him and saw a tall muscular, bald, black-skinned Subordinate with a small beard. The man smiled wickedly.

“Tala, master of the Wolf Heart,” He said. “We meet at last.”

Tala gripped his keyblade tightly.

“And who are you?” Tala said.

“I am Onyx, Subordinate of Earth,” He said. “And it seems your doggy friends don’t like me.”

The dogs were all growling at Onyx.

“How could they not?” Tala said. “You and your little ‘Dark Cult’ took everyone and everything they cared about and made them prisoners.”

“Care? How could they care?” Onyx said with a mocking laugh. “They’re just animals, nothing more.”

“That doesn’t mean they don’t have feelings, Dirtball!” Tala shouted with rage.
“Now scram or else you can join those other losers we already wasted!”

“I’ll admit you’ve got skills for eliminating Zarbon and Thorn, Tala,” Onyx said as he made a huge sledgehammer appear in his hands.
“But you still haven’t reached your full potential. In fact, I don’t even know why the Wolf Heart chose you to be its master. You lack the skills and abilities to wield such a noble weapon; you’re a disgrace of what you’re supposed to be. I bet you don’t even know that keyblade’s purpose.”

“I know perfectly well what it’s for, you bastard!” Tala said. “It’s for helping those in need and stopping maniacs like you!”

“Well, if you really wanna save these people,” Onyx said. “You’re gonna have to beat me.”

“It’ll be MY pleasure.”

“BUT,” Onyx said bringing up a finger. “You must do it alone.”

Balto didn’t like the sound of that.

“Fine,” Tala agreed.

“WHAT?!” The dogs shouted.

“Tala! Have you lost your mind?” Kodi said with a whole lot of concern in his voice.

“Tala, are you sure you wanna do this?” Balto said with a worried look.

“Don’t worry about me, Balto,” Tala said. “I remember taking out bullies like him before, and I sent them packing with them sucking their thumbs.”

“Tala…” Balto began to say. “Well… be careful and good luck, we’ll be cheering you on.”

“Thank you my friend,” Tala said and he walked towards Onyx.

“But before we begin,” Onyx said. “I challenge you to… a Showdown!”

“A plain old regular showdown?” Tala said. “Hm, haven’t seen one of those for a while. So what’re your rules?”

“No magical powers, we use only our weapon combat and fighting skills,” Onyx said, raising his sledgehammer.

“Deal,” Tala said. “But we each get to use only 3 spells for the whole showdown and get to choose one of our powers we’ll both be able to use the entire time. I choose…”

Tala levitated into the air.

“The Power of Levitation!”

“Fine,” Onyx said. “Then I choose… the power to manipulate Earth.”

“Very well,” Tala said.

“And just to make sure there’s no interference…” Onyx said as he snapped his fingers. They were surrounded by a force-field and the dogs could no longer help Tala.

“Let’s go.” Tala said.

They faced eachother with their weapons bared.

Then they both shouted at the same time, “Gong yi tan pai!”

“Bring it on…” Onyx dared.

“As you wish,” Tala said in an “O-k, you asked for it” voice, and streaked towards Onyx, slam-kicking him in the face causing him to fly into the ceiling of the force-field. He landed on the ground and dusted himself off.

“Not a bad opening move, Tala,” He said in a sinister voice. “But now it’s time to show you the power of Mother Earth!”

Onyx stomped the ground with his foot and three large boulders popped out and floated over the ground. Onyx jumped into the air and slammed them with his sledgehammer at Tala. Tala jumped into the air and jumped onto the first boulder, then the next and finally jumped towards the third. He brought out his keyblades and span, slicing the third boulder in half, but it was a distraction. Tala gasped as he saw Onyx slam him in the chest with his hammer and pinned him to the ground.

“Teleport!”

Tala teleported out from under the hammer and reappeared in the air.

“Seems you’ve already wasted your first spell,” Onyx laughed.

Tala flinched.
“He’s right.” He thought to himself. “Now I only have two, I have to save them for emergencies only.”

Tala streaked to a stop in front of Onyx which totally caught the big guy off-guard and Tala began slashing away, doing powerful combo-attacks. Tala lashed out with his foot, kicking Onyx in the jaw and jumped away from him.

“That hurt…” Onyx said as he rubbed his chin. “But still it was clever, that.
Now take THIS you little BRAT!”

Onyx slammed the ground with his hammer and bits of rocks all flew towards his arms, making huge arms made of stone.

Tala gasped; he had NEVER seen such mastery of Earth magic.

Before he saw it coming, Onyx reached out and grabbed him with one of the stone arms and held him in both hands, cackling evilly.

“See what I can do?” Onyx asked. “I haven’t even done ONE spell and I have you completely at my mercy. Time to hurt, Tala!”

Onyx began squeezing with both stone hands, making Tala cry out in pain. Tala, still screaming from the pain, tried to worm his way out of Onyx’s grasp but it was no good.

“I’m beginning to feel your bone crack,” Onyx said with a sneer. “So why don’t you just surrender and I’ll ‘try’ to make your death… painless. Then again, I’ll just kill you anyway.”

Onyx laughed sadistically.
“You had no idea what you were up against from the beginning.” Onyx said in a menacing voice.
“All your efforts were in vain, all you believed in was nothing more than a fool’s hope. Perhaps you may be able to fool these people into thinking you’re some kind of a hero, but I’ve seen what you really are… You’re a worthless… incapable… child! After I destroy you, my queen will finally open Kingdom Forest and the worlds will be hers to command. Unfortunately, you won’t get to see the splendor that is our queen!”

Onyx threw Tala hard to the floor, and he didn’t move. Onyx continued to laugh while everyone began shouting to Tala, telling him to get up.

“Tala!” Balto shouted. “Get up! Please! You have to get up!”

But Tala didn’t move. Balto gasped; he could see a trickle of blood coming out of Tala’s mouth. With rage in his Heart, Balto began to slam against the force-field.

“Dad, stop!” Kodi said. “It won’t work!”

“Father, he’s right!” Natalie said. “You’re just hurting yourself!”

Balto stopped and began to pant.
“Tala…” He said as tears began to stream down his face.

“I know, Dad,” Kodi said. “But the barrier’s too strong.”

“I’m sorry, Balto,” Kirby said. “But we can’t help him.”

Balto couldn’t expect this. Tala was not moving at all. Tala couldn’t be dead. He couldn’t! Balto no longer thought of Tala as a best friend, but as a brother. The way he and Tala would share and talk about everything. The fun and laughs they had together. The way Tala played with Balto’s grandchildren. And how much Tala said he would give to protect Balto’s family. No. Tala is family and always will be.
Onyx was still laughing.
“Is that all? I expected a challenge at least.” He said in a mocking tone.
Then he gasped as he saw Tala move.
Tala groaned as he began to stand up. When he was on his feet, he looked exhausted, and had cuts on his face, and even his coat looked like it had been through hell.
Tala was smiling though. He was laughing a little too.
“You wanted a challenge?”
He raised his keyblade over his head.
“Healing Herb.”
Blue Orchids sparkled over his head and all the injuries melted away, even his coat looked as good as new.
“But- This isn’t possible!” Onyx gasped. “How could a stupid little kid survive my attack?!
Tala just chuckled.
“Ha ha! The battle isn’t over as long as one still has some fight in him.” Tala said.
“Well,” Onyx said, raising his hammer. “I guess it’s time to take it up a notch…”
Onyx smashed the ground with his hammer and stalactites began falling from the ceiling. Tala used his Levitation power to streak past them as they fell, right towards Onyx. Then they went toe-to-toe in weapon combat.
“Tala! Get him!” Ralph, Jake and Kirby shouted.
Tala went for an overhead attack, but Onyx parried it and pushed Tala’s Keyblade to the ground.
“You’re nothing without your little toy!” Onyx said with a smile.
“What makes you think that’s the only one?”
Tala reached into the air and pulled out the Raven Soul. Onyx just barely dodged the slash Tala tried to do with it.
Then they went at it again, smashing, slashing, parrying etc.
Tala jumped back and brought his hands together.
“SHADOW BALL!!!”
A ball of Dark energy shot and hit Onyx square on the chest, making him cry out in pain.
“THAT’S IT!!!” He shouted. “NO MORE MR. NICE GUY! I’m ending this NOW!”
Onyx jumped high into the air, raised his hammer over his head and let himself fall towards Tala. But Tala didn’t move.
“Tala!” Balto shouted. “LOOK OUT!”
Onyx crashed and there was a cloud of dust, they couldn’t see a thing. When it cleared they gasped. They saw Onyx… with the tip of the Wolf Heart Keyblade sticking out of his back.
Tala moved Onyx out of the way and made the weapon reappear in his hand.
“It… can’t be…” Onyx said in a dying voice.
Tala kneeled down to him.
“You were a worthy opponent. To honor you, I shall spare you pain.”
Tala grabbed Onyx’s chin and shoulder and the team heard a sickening crack. Onyx’s body vanished. He was gone.
“Whew!” Tala said as he fell to his knees. “Glad that’s over.”
The force-field disappeared and the team ran over to him, cheering.
“Tala, are you all right?” Balto asked.
Tala looks at him and smiles, giving him a thumbs-up. The dogs started jumping for joy.
“You beat that guy easy!” Natalie said.
“You got guts, Tala.” Jake said.
“I knew you had it in ya.” Kirby said.
“Yeah, that’ll show that guy for messing with Tala.” Ralph said.
“You’ve had me worried sick, Tala.” Dusty said.
“Yeah, I thought you were dead when you were on the ground.” Kodi said.
Tala chuckled.
“Trust me; I’ve been through living hell, ten times worse than that.” He said.
Tala tries to get up. Balto, Kodi, and Dusty help him.
“Thanks you guys.” He said.
Then they heard applause and looked to see all the people of Nome clapping their hands.
Then Tala remembered something.
“AUGH! My hood!”
He quickly put his hood up, not wanting the people to see his face.
Then three people came over; it was Rosy and her parents.
“We owe you our lives, stranger.” Said Rosy’s father.
“Please, remove your hood, sir,” Said Rosy’s mother. “You saved our lives, it doesn’t matter what you look like.”
Then Rosy came up to Tala and took his gloved hand into hers. Tala kneeled down to her and she brought her hands to his hood. Tala hesitated a little, but let her lower it.
“I’m Rosy,” She said.
“I’m Tala,” Tala replied.
Then before he saw it coming, Rosy jumped up and hugged Tala around his neck.
“Thank you so much,” She said.
“Balto!”
Tala looked up and saw Jenna running to Balto.
“Jenna!” He shouted.
They ran to eachother and began nuzzling. Kodi, Natalie, and Jake ran over to their parents for a happy reunion.
After a lot of thank-yous, Tala whistled the townsfolk’s attention.
“Like I said before everyone, I want you to follow the dogs out of here! They’ll lead you all somewhere safe! There’s something I have to do, and I’ll try to get you your town back as well! Now, single file! Don’t rush!”
The people did as Tala commanded and followed the dogs out. But Balto, Kodi and Jenna stayed behind.
“And what’re you three doing here?” Tala said in a curious voice.
“After everything we’ve been through, you think we’d let you go alone?” Balto asked.
“Not a chance, Tala,” Kodi said. “We’re helping, whether you like it or not.”
“And I’m helping as well,” Jenna said.
“I don’t know what’ll happen,” Tala said. “You could get hurt or worse.”
“We don’t care,” Balto said. “We owe you more than we could ever repay.”
“The rest of the Dark Cult is waiting, let’s go!” Kodi said with a determined look.
“Right!” Tala said with a smile.

In the tower…
“Now even Onyx has fallen.” Said the queen. “All because of a brat with a key and a few wretched mutts!”
The Queen stood up from her throne and blue lightning crackled around her, easily showing that she wasn’t happy.
“Please my queen,” Infernox said. “Try to calm yourself!”
“You’re right!” The queen said as she made the blue lightning disappear. “I’m calm… After all, this chess game of strength and wits is still on. Soon Tala will fall right into our trap, the power of the totems and the Princesses will be in place, and the Sacred Wolf will complete the Door to Twilight.”
“Problem though, your majesty,” Neerla said. “We don’t have the Sacred Wolf and how’re we gonna get the totems from Tala?”
“Simple my dear…” The queen said. “YOU will acquire the totems from him.”
“WHAT?” Neerla said. “Why me?”
“Because it’s YOUR fault all this happened, you stupid disgrace!” The queen shouted. “If you had finished him back in the Pride Lands, we would have opened the Door a long time ago!”
“But how was I to know he’d get this far?” Neerla argued. “When I first met him, he tried to play the hero, I didn’t have the Heart to kill him.”
“You’re a Heartless,” The queen said in a dangerous voice. “You have no Heart. Now do as I say and go kill Tala or you can join the rest of your Heartless brethren in the Dark Void…”
“Yes, my queen,” Neerla said as she bowed and then disappeared.
Infernox and Aerial smiled evilly at eachother.
“You really think that Neerla can eliminate Tala, your majesty?” Aerial asked.
“Please… she couldn’t last twenty minutes against my old apprentice.” The queen said.
“Tala was your apprentice, my queen?” Infernox asked.
“One upon a time that was true…” The queen said. “But after Tala beats the hell out of her, she’ll come crawling back to me, and when she does, I can truly…FINALLY exist…”
Sorry it took so long. MAJOR Writer's Block. Anyway, here it is. In this the group returns to Nome and find out there's trouble. Tala faces a powerful enemy and the Neerla is getting suspicious about the Queen.
